Ingredients

  • 1

can or about 1/2 lb. Alaskan Crab, or lump crab or and type you can find.

  • (I find freah is best but if you can get refrigerated cans from fish counter this is fine. I buy 1 lb can – need to pick over the meat looking for little pieces of shell. If you buy the canned crab fr

  • cold water.)

  • 8

    oz. pkg. cream cheese

  • 2

    tabsp. Mayonnaise

  • lemon juice about a tablespoon (if crab is fishy you may want to add more

  • curry powder - ? 1/2 teaspoon to start

  • Worcestershire sauce maybe about 1 teaspoon – or a few shakes

  • I add a few drops of tobasco ? (1/4 teaspoon)

  • Small amount of chopped onion

  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Combine softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Add lemon juice, curry powder and onion to taste. Add crab. Put in a shallow oven proof dish, top with Parmesan cheese and bake at 400 for about 30 minutes. (if you have other things in oven and need to set it at a different temp, just adjust the time. Serve with Triscuits. Sorry about the amounts – it is sort of trial and error. You want a hint of curry but not to overwhelm the crab. When I first started making this they sold 8 oz packages of frozen crab which I found great. The 1 pound can you buy at the fish counter probably has more than you need.
