A classic vinaigrette that compliments everything from a colorful caprese salad to simple grilled chicken, this is a versatile dressing you'll make again and again.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon(s) balsamic vinegar, white or dark
  • 1.5 tablespoon(s) warm water
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup(s) extra-virgin olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Whisk together balsamic vinegar, warm water, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

Whisking continuously, slowly pour in extra-virgin olive oil until emulsified.

Yields: 2/3 cup (enough for a salad for 4)

Double or Triple this recipe and store it in a old shake-and-serve mustard or jam jar. Vinaigrette will stay fresh for a week
