Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
  • 8 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 2 7 ounce packages lady fingers
  • 2 Tablespoons strong instant coffee dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 Tablespoon coffee or chocolate liqueur

Preparation

Step 1

Whip heavy cream until stiff. Add confectioners sugar and mix until incorporated. Add cream cheese and mix until smooth. Do not overmix.

Combine coffee/water mixture and liqueur in a small bowl. Quickly roll each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, coating on both sides, and place at the bottom of a 9" springform pan. You may need to break some ladyfingers in order to cover the bottom of the pan completely.

Arrange additional (undipped) ladyfingers upright around the edge of the pan side by side, with the curved sides of the ladyfingers touching the ring of the pan. Pack them tightly using the cookies on the bottom to hold/wedge the vertical ones in place against the edge of the pan.

Pour half the whipped cream mixture into the center and spread and smooth gently with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle unsweetened cocoa on top in a thin layer.

Make another layer of soaked ladyfingers by repeating steps for the first layer. Pour remaining whipped cream mixture on top and dust with cocoa. Cover and refrigerate to let flavors meld.
