Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 T. cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tp baking soda
- 1 tp vanilla
- 1/4 cups butter
- 2 T. cocoa
- 3 T. milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation
Step 1
Sift together flour & sugar. In a sauce pan bring first 4 ingredients to a boil. Pour over flour mixture while still hot; add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Bake at 400˚F for 20 minutes. Use a 16 x 11 x 1 pan.
While baking make frosting. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil. Add enough powdered sugar to spread easily. Add vanilla & nuts if desired. Spread while both are warm.
