Ingredients
- For the Icing:
- 1 vanilla sponge cake (homemade is better but store bought will do)
- 1 can Sweetened Condensed milk
- 8.5 oz. cream
- 8.5 oz. Evaporated milk
- 6 egg whites
- 10.5 oz. sugar
Preparation
Step 1
With the sponge cake, cut away the edges and cut in half horizontally, once it is cold.
Mix the condensed milk, cram and evaporated milk until uniform. Using half of this mixture, add to the bottom half of the sponge. Place the remaining half on top of the bottom half, then cover with the remaining liquid. Cover the cake with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.
A couple of hours before serving, whip the meringue with the egg whites and sugar and cover the top and sides of the cake so as to finish it and cover any imperfections.
