French Onion Soup

  • 1 lb. white onions, sliced thin
  • 2 cups dry white wine
  • 3 TBS butter
  • 6 C chicken broth
  • slices of thick, crusty bread
  • Swiss or Gruyere cheese



Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine onions, wine and butter in 9 x 12 glass baking dish. Bake 1 H (to absorb liquid)
Simmer broth
Put onion mixture in bowls and add broth.
Top with bread and cheese
Microwave until cheese melts
