Ingredients

  • 2

    cups of butter

  • 1

    half cup water

  • 2

    cups of super fine sugar

  • 1

    cup of chopped almonds

  • Large hershey bar 7 ounces

Directions

In large deep pan I have a special pan for making candy add 2 cups of butter, 1 half cup of water and 2 cups sugar. Bring to a simmer with the lid on and simmer 1 minute without stirring over medium heat. Turn heat up to high and add almonds and stir constantly and fast still puffs of smoke come off. It usually takes about 10 minutes or longer. Spread on a rimmed cookie sheet and spread close to the edges. Cool a little in the meantime melt a large hershey bar in a double boiler. Spread on the toffee to the edges and sprinkle with ground almonds. Cool till set up can put in fridge.
