Ingredients

    pound hot pork sausage

  • 1

    small onion, diced (2 1/2 ounces)

  • 3/4

    cup green pepper, diced (3 ounces)

  • 2

    tablespoons chili powder

  • 2

    teaspoons cumin

  • 1/2

    teaspoon garlic powder

  • 8

    ounces tomato sauce

  • 15 ounce can pumpkin

  • 2

    cup water

  • 1/2

    teaspoon salt, or to taste

  • Toppings:

  • 2

    ounces cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2

    green onions, sliced

Directions

In a Dutch oven, brown the sausage and onions; drain the grease. Add the remaining ingredients except the toppings. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 20-30 minutes.
