Have a lot of fun making this and playing with it. It will last for a long time in airtight containers.

Ingredients

  • 2 C. Flour
  • 2 C. Warm Water
  • 4 t. Cream of Tartar
  • 2 t. Oil
  • 1/2 C. Salt
  • Food Coloring (of your choice)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first 5 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the mixture becomes a smooth dough like substance. Pour on to a floured board or counter top and kneed until it becomes Play Dough Consistency.


Divide into 8 sections. Add the food coloring to each section. Knead until well blended. I like to make Red, Blue, Yellow and Green.
The food coloring will stain your hands so best if you wear plastic gloves. Place in plastic containers or plastic bags for storage.

These are the colors I make,
Red, Blue, Yellow and Green
Then:
Red and Blue makes Purple
Red and Yellow Makes Orange
Only a little Red makes Pink
And you can leave one White
