Strawberry Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. fresh strawberries
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. gelatin
  • 1 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. light cream

Preparation

Step 1

Crush berries. Add sugar, lemon juice and salt, stirring well. Cover and place in refrigerator. Soften gelatin in cold water and dissolve in milk heated to scalding. Cool. Combine with strawberries. Add cream. Turn into freezer can and freeze until very firm. Serve plain or with sweetened sliced or crushed strawberries.
