Ingredients
- Bar Crust:
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. cold margarine or butter
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Filling:
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. Karo light or dark corn syrup
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 15x10x1 pan. In large bowl with mixer at medium speed beat ingredients for bar crust until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly and evenly into prepared pan. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
In large bowl beat eggs, corn syrup, butter and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour over hot crust; spread evenly. Bake 25 minutes or until filling is firm around the edges and slightly firm in center. Cool completely on wire rack before cutting. Makes 48 bars
Note: I have on my recipe sheet that it took more like 35-40 to cook, so plan a little extra time and keep watching them
