Ingredients
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1/4 cup wild rice
- 1/4 cup pot barley
- 3 cups hot water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp butter
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter over high heat-immediately add rice and barley mixture
Stir quickly to coat, and add water and salt.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to lowest temp possible
Cook covered 45 minutes
DO NOT LIFT LID
When done fluff with fork and turn into slightly greased bowl
To make in slow cooker: Use one onion and toss all ingredients except oil into slow cooker before bed.
Refrigerate overnight
Cook on low 7 -8 hrs
