Fusilli and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fusilli
  • 1 large broccoli with at least 4 stems
  • 2 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3/4 C olive oil
  • pepper
  • 1/2-3/4 t hot red pepper flakes

Preparation

Step 1

Clean broccoli-cut off flowerets and place in bowl of cold water for 30 minutes.

Bring large pot of cold water to a boil-add pasta. The pasta should be cooked al dente for 10 minutes. Add flowerets to pasta when 4 minutes left to cook.

Meanwhile, mince garlic. Place oil in a small saucepan over med heat-add garlic and saute until lightly golden about 1 minute. Season with pepper and red pepper flakes.

Pour over pasta.
