    cups milk

  • 10

    cups bread cubes

  • 1 2/3

    cups raisins

  • 1/2

    cup minced pecans

  • 1/2

    cup butter

  • 4

    eggs

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 1

    tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4

    tsp allspice

  • 1/4

    tsp nutmeg

  • 2

    tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4

    tsp salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 8x8" square cake pan. In a 4 quart pot, scald the milk and let it cool for several minutes. Add the bread, raisins, pecans and butter. Blend well. In a separate bowl beat the eggs and combine them with teh remaining ingredients, blending until they are mixed well. Add egg mixture to the bread. Pour the pudding mixture into the cake pan and cook for 1.5 hours. Test for doneness by putting a cake tester into the center. If not clean bake 10 minutes longer and test again. The top should be golden brown when done.
