Marbled Almond Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 Tablespoons amaretto
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons milk
  • 3 Tablespoons cocoa powder

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup shortening with 2 tablespoons amaretto on medium speed until smooth.

Gradually add 2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, beating well. Beat in 2 tablespoons of milk. Gradually beat in 1 1/2 cups additional confectioners sugar. Beat in additional milk (1 to 2 tablespoons) until frosting reaches piping consistency.

Transfer half the frosting to a medium bowl; stir in 3 tablespoons of cocoa.

Place white frosting and chocolate frosting side by side in a large pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.
