Ingredients
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- Opt: cayenne to taste - scant 1/8 tsp is a little spicy but good
Preparation
Step 1
In heavy bottomed saucepan, bring the maple syrup to a boil, add cayenne if using
Boil for 1 minute (do not do less - syrup has to thicken)
Add almonds & stir constantly til the maple syrup has completely crystallized onto the almonds & the almonds appear dry
Pour the almonds onto a baking sheet & let cool
Will crisp as it cools
Store in airtight container for up to 5 weeks
