Ingredients

  • 2 cups veg shortening
  • 7-8 cups sifted confectioners sugar
  • 2 tsp clear vanilla extract
  • 4 - 6 Tbp milk

Step 1

Soften shortening with electric mixer. Add the vanilla extract and gradually add the sugar. Beat on medium until well mixed and smooth. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl often to get complete mixing. When all the sugar has been added the icing will be stiff and dry. Add milk a little at a time to thin and make fluffy. Keep adding milk until you get the consisancy needed for your project.
To thicken add more sugar. If you are not going to use this right away cover the bowl with a damp cloth.
