Coconut Walnut Squares

Ingredients
- Crust
- 1 cup white flour
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- Topping
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. white flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Base
Combine flour, brown sugar and margarine in a medium mixing bowl.
Using a pastry cutter, mix until crumbly.
Pat mixture in the bottom of a greased 9" square baking dish.
Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Topping
Stir together brown sugar, flour, baking powder.
Add eggs, one at a time, stirring until blended.
Add corn syrup, walnuts, coconut and vanilla.
Pour over warm crust.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
