Appetizers: Ruth Alden's Hot Ham and Cheese Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound slice boiled ham
  • 1/2 pound piece sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup sliced green onion or scallions
  • 2 sliced hard-cooked eggs
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced pimento-stuffed olives
  • mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Cut the ham and cheese into 1/4" cubes
Combine onions, eggs, and pimento
Toss together with 3 T mayonnaise blended with 1/2 cup chili sauce
Mix well and spread mixture in 12 split frankfurter rolls
Wrap each in aluminum foil, twisting ends
Cook 10 minutes

Serve hot

Can be frozen then cooked

Good with spiced cider or Russian tea.
