- 6 lemons or enough to make 1 cup of juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 5 cups cold water
- 2 lemons, sliced for garnish
Firmly roll each lemon between your hand and the counter top to break up pulp before cutting it in 1/2 and juicing. Squeeze each lemon by hand or use a juicer. Pour the lemon juice through a fine strainer to catch seeds and pulp. Dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of hot water. Then add the cold water and lemon juice. Stir vigorously Adjust water and sugar to taste. Chill and serve over ice.
