PORK CHINATOWN RED-COOKED TREASURES

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless pork loin, cut into 3/4" cubes
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seed oil
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons five-spice powder
  • 2 teaspoon grated ginger root
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Preparation

Step 1

In a 1-gallon plastic bag, combine all ingredients and mix well. Seal bag and marinade in the refrigerator, 9-12 hours overnight. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Remove pork cubes from marinade, discarding marinade. Pat pork dry with paper towel, place cubes in a single layer (not touching) in a shallow baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until pork is tender and lightly browned. Remove to platter, serve hot as an appetizer.
