Ingredients
- 2 packages (8 squares each) of Baker's Semi Sweet Chocolate, divided
- 3/4 firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp CALUMET Baking Powder
- 2 cups chopped Walnuts
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Coarsely chop 8 squares (1 pkg) of chocolate, set aside.
Microwave additional 8 squares in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH for 2 minutes, stir with wooden spoon until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Stir until well blended. Add flour and baking powder, mix well. Stir chopped chocolate and walnuts. (If omitting nuts, increase flour to 3/4 cup to prevent excessive spreading of cookies as they bake.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough, 2 inches apart, onto un-greased baking sheets.
Bake 12 to 13 minutes or until cookies are puffed and feel set to the touch. Cool 1 minute and remove from baking sheets. Cool completely on wire racks.
