Jam Thumbprints

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla, and salt.
Gradually mix in flour.
Shape into 3/4" balls, dip in slightly beaten egg white and roll in nuts.
Place 1" apart on greased cookie sheet.
Press down centre with thumb.
Bake at 350 F for 15 - 17 minutes.
When cool, fill cavity with jam.
