Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 to 2 tablespoons colored nonpareils or colored sugar
Preparation
Step 1
1. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour.
2. Divide dough in half. Shape each half into roll, about 2 inches in diameter and about 6 inches long. Roll in nonpareils. Wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm.
3. Heat oven to 350°. Cut rolls into 1/8-inch slices. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
