Ingredients
- • ¼ cup of powdered sugar
- • 2 cups of sugar
- • Unflavored cooking spray
- • 2/3 cup of light corn syrup
- • Food coloring
- • ¾ cup of hot water
- • ¼ cup of your choice of schnapps
Preparation
Step 1
Pour the water into a pot or dutch oven, and add the sugar and corn syrup to it. Stir till it seems combined and then place on medium high heat. Stir and heat till the sugar dissolves and bring the mixture to boil. Insert a candy thermometer into the syrup and heat until it reaches 300°F. When it does, remove from heat and set aside. Add a few drops of your favorite food coloring, and stir till it is well blended. Then pour in the schnapps, and continue to stir till the alcohol has mixed well.
Lightly grease the cookie sheet using unflavored cooking spray and pour the mixture into it. Place the tray into the refrigerator and leave it there to cool and set for the next 4 hours, or until the candy is firm. Once it is firm, take it out and use a table knife to cut it into pieces. Dust the candy pieces lightly with powdered sugar. Serve or store.
