Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Icing
  • 1 box confectioners sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • Add 1 cup of sugar and 2 tbsp butter to ice all cookies

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter; add sugar and mix well. Add eggs and beat until creamy.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with cream. Mix well.

Refrigerate dough overnight or for several hours.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. With a small floured glass, gently press down dough to flatten.

Bake at 400 degrees- 10 minutes. Ice when cool.
