  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups chopped peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

1) Heat and stir sugar, syrup and water in 3 Qt. saucepan until sugar dissolves.

2) When syrup boils blend in butter. Continue cooking and stir often when mix reaches 230 degrees on candy thermometer.

3) Add nuts when mixture reaches 280 degrees. Continue stirring.

4) When mix reaches 300 degrees remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda. Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets and pulling and lifting with 2 forks stretch thin. When cool break up
