Green Bean Casserole- Classic Recipe

By

This recipe is originally came from Campbell's Soup. I've doubled it, because let's face it- your family will eat it all :). Each can of soup is 1 1/4 cups, so if you are making this recipe with your own condensed cream of mushroom soup (such as you would with food allergies), the conversion is posted below.

Ingredients

  • 2 10 3/4 ounce cans (2 1/2 cups) condensed cream of mushroom soup (substituting one of these with a can of roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup is nice, too)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 dashes pepper
  • 2 (16 ounce) bags frozen green beans, thawed, not cooked
  • 2 2/3 cups french French-fried onions, divided

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a 9" x 13" pan, mix soup, milk, soy sauce, pepper, green beans and 1 1/3 cup fried onions.
3. Bake for 25-40 minutes or until hot.
4. Stir then sprinkle with remaining onions and bake for 5 minutes.
5. TIP: instead of the 2 16 ounce packages frozen green beans, you can use; 4 9 ounce packages of frozen green beans, 4 16 ounce cans green beans or 3 pounds fresh green beans.
