Country-Style Pot Roast (aka Brisket)

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds brisket of beef, trimmed well
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (12 oz) can beer
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 8 oz whole berry cranberry sauce

Preparation

Step 1

-Season brisket with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place in a Dutch Oven or lidded roasting pan.

-Mix together the onion soup mix, beer, catsup and cranberry sauce and pour over brisket.

-Cover and bake at 350 degrees until fork tender, about 2 hours. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

-Slice meat and return to pan with gravy from which all the fat has been removed.

-when ready to serve, cover pan and heat in oven at 350 degrees for thirty minutes or until heated through
