Ingredients
- 4 C. Flour
- 1 Tbls. Baking powder
- 1 tsp. Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 C. Butter
- (2 sticks) softened
- 1 C. sugar
- 4 Large Eggs
- 1 C. Nuts, chopped
- 1 Tbls. Vanilla or your
- choice of extract
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oven to 325º.
Combine the flour, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Beat the butter and sugar until light
and fluffy on medium speed with electric mixer.
Add eggs one at at time, beating well after
each addition.
Reduce mixer speed to low, gradually beat
in flour mixture and vanilla. Mix well.
Add nuts, only mix till nuts are incorporated.
Divide dough into 4 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a 14" log.
Place 2 logs on parchment lined cookie sheets
Bake for 30 mins. Remove from oven,
lower oven to 250º. Let logs cool 10 min.
Put logs on cutting board. Cut logs on a
1/2" diagonal with a serrated knife.
Place the sliced cookies back on the
cookie sheet sliced side down and bake
10-15 mins. Cool slices on wire rack.
Store in airtight container.
