Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1/3 cup of water
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
In a heavy saucepan or double boiler, combine the sugar, egg whites, water and the cream of tartar. With a portable mixer, beat mixture on low speed for 1 minute. Continue beating on low speed over low heat until frosting reaches 160 degrees, about 8 to 10 minutes. Pour into a large mixing bowl and add the vanilla. Beat on high speed until frosting forms stiff peaks, about 7 minutes.
