Pirate Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 can (12 oz) beer
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped onion
  • 1 tbls Dijon-style mustard
  • 2 tbls Soy Sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed (2 tsps)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper sauce
  • 1/8 tsp liquid smoke
  • 3 lb beef sirloin steak, 1 1/2 inches thick
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients except steak, salt, and pepper; simmer 30 minutes. Brush meat with sauce. Place steak on grill 4 inches from medium coals. Cook 15 minutes on each side, basting frequently with sauce. Season with salt and pepper after turning and removing from grill. Serve with remaining sauce. 8 servings
