Beat butter and brown sugar until light. Mix in egg, lemon juice and extract.
Add dry cake mix and oats; stir to combine. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the mixture for topping.
Press remaining mixture into a greased and floured 13x9-inch baking pan. Evenly spread preserves on top.
Using your fingers, crumble the reserved mixture over the preserves. Press crumbs down gently to secure.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting.
