Toffee bars are easy to make, and are a favorite with your family and guests! Melted chocolate and nuts top a shortbread crust.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped peacans

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour; mix well. Spread dough into 15'/2 x 10'/2-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 350°F for 23 minutes. Spread immediately with melted chocolate; sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars immediately.
