Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 cup flour
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Frosting:
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tsp cocoa
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together flour and sugar in a large bowl. Set aside. In a saucepan, bring the butter, cocoa and water to a boil. Pour over sugar/flour mixture and mix well. Add the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda. Mix well. Pour into reased and floured bar pan. Bake 20-25 minutes at 375 degrees.
About 5 minutes before bars are done, start frosting. In a saucepan, bring the butter, cocoa and milk to a boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Spread on hot bars.
