Vegetable Soup, Mom's

This is a very simple vegetable soup recipe that I got from one of my son's elementary school teachers. They made it at Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

  • Broth:
  • 12 cups of water
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 6 bay leaves
  • Add:
  • potatoes
  • green beans
  • corn
  • (If you don't like chopped onions, leave them whole and dip them out with the bay leaves before you eat it.)

Preparation

Step 1

Vegetable Soup


Broth:

12 cups of water
4 cups tomato juice
6 beef bouillon cubes
1 cup chopped onions
3 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons chili powder
6 bay leaves

Add:

potatoes
green beans
corn

Simmer for 3 hours

(If you don't like chopped onions, leave them whole and dip them out with the bay leaves before you eat it.)
