Ingredients

  • 2 quarts milk (warm)
  • 2 cups solid shortening (melted)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 packages yeast, dissolved in 1 cup warm water; add 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Stir in 4 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Add self-rising flour until like cake batter.
Let rise until double; then stir in rest of 5 pounds flour.
Pour oil in mixing bowl; flip and let rise again.
Make out, let rise. Bake at 400deg until brown.
NOTE: I make 1/4 of the recipe at a time by using 5 cups flour and a quarter of the other ingredients.
