Ingredients
- 2 pounds top-grade beef sirloin - (to 2 1/2) (or skirt steak)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce - (to 4)
- 2 tablespoons sake
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 large garlic clove crushed

Step 1
Trim excess fat from meat if needed. In a glass baking dish, combine remaining ingredients. Marinate meat at room temperature 30 minutes.
Remove meat from marinade. Preheat a charcoal grill. Gently shake excess marinade off meat before cooking. Lightly oil grill top. Grill meat to medium-rare or desired degree of doneness. Let sirloin sit 5 minutes before cutting. Slice across the grain.
This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
