Ingredients

  • 4 Lbs boneless rump roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cup water divided
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 8 lg carrots
  • 1/2 pounds pearl onions
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon browning sauce optional

Preparation

Step 1

Brown roast in dutch oven in oil. Combine salt pepper thyme sprinkle over meat. Add bay leaf . And 2 cups water; brig to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2.5 hours. Add potatoes, carrots, and onions. Cover and simmer for 45 mins: make gray and serve.
