Ingredients

  • 8 T (1 stick) unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 t nutmeg
  • 2 (1 lb) loaves frozen bread dough, thawed and briefly kneaded together
  • 1 c golden raisins
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, room temp
  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 1/2 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Melt 4 T butter in small saucepan until butter smells nutty, 3-4 mins. Cool slightly in a bowl combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
On lightly floured surface roll out bread dough onto 9x13" rectangle. Brush with the melted butter, then cover evenly with sugar mixture and raisins. Starting at short end, roll dough into a log. Cut into 2" thick pieces. Arrange pieces, cut side up, in greased 8" square pan. Bake 45-50 mins. Cool 5 mins.
Meanwhile, beat together cream cheese, remaining butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy. Use either as a dipping sauce or spread over bread before serving.
