Ingredients
- 1/3 cup celery, chopped
- 1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tb butter or oil
- 1-14 1/2 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2/3 cup long grain rice (no more than that)
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- hot pepper sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cups sliced link sausage, cooked (Polska Keibasa or Hot Links)
Preparation
Step 1
In large skillet cook veggies in butter or oil until they are tender. Stir in tomatoes, chicken broth, rice, basil, garlic powder, bay leaf, and 4-5 splashes of hot sauce. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes until rice is tender. Stir in sausage and heat thoroughly. Discard bay leaf before serving.
