BUSY HOUSEWIFE SLAW

Ingredients

  • Chop all ingredients for slaw, mix well and pour over all syrup as follows:
  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 4 medium onions
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 small jar pimientos
  • -
  • -
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 3 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Stir and simmer 6 minutes and cool rapidly. Store in gallon jug for 24 hours before using. The longer it is kept in the refrigerator the better it is  as long as 5 or 6 months.
