Andy's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

My husband makes these wonderful cookies and is asked on many occasions to make them because they are that good.

Ingredients

  • 300 g/2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 6 g/1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 6 g/1 tsp Salt (pref. Kosher)
  • 150 g/3/4 cup Sugar
  • 142 g/3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 227 g/1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 large Egg plus one egg yolk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt butter and then allow to cool completely.
Beat egg and yolk together and slowly mix in with butter.
In a medium bowl - combine flour, baking soda and salt
In a mixer - blend sugars and butter/egg mixture. Add vanilla
Slowly mix in flour mixture into sugar mixture until combined. Be sure to not over mix!!! This is crucial.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Using a #20 disher (or an ice cream scoop) - dish onto parchment paper lines sheets.
Bake for 15-17 minutes. Allow to sit on cookie sheet for two minutes before removing to cooling rack.
