Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1-1 -1/2 lb. trout
- 1/2 c. sliced celery
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 c. herb stuffing mix
- 3 Tbsp. water
- lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. sliced green onions 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Preparation
Step 1
Cook celery, green pepper and chopped onion in 3 tablespoons butter until tender but not brown. Add stuffing mix and water. Place fish on well-greased foil; season cavity with salt and brush with lemon juice. Stuff with stuffing mixture. Seal foil around fish and bake in oven at 350dF for 30 minutes or place over hot coals 20 minutes and then turn for 20 minutes. Turn foil back and continue cooking for 15 additional minutes.
Meanwhile, add remaining ingredients to saucepan and cook, stirring until thickened and bubbly. Remove fish to warm serving platter and pour sauce over fish. Great when camping and fresh fish is caught!
