Chicken & Cheddar Dog Treats 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • COOKIES:
  • 1 1/3 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon low sodium chicken broth (no onion!)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • BANANA CAROB FROSTING:
  • 2 cup banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 tablespoon carob flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 tablespoon unbleached flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
  • 12 ounces non-fat cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Beat with a hand mixer until fluffy. Frost cookies with a spatula or fill a pastry bag fitted with a fine tip and pipe onto cookies

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine all ingredients in small bowl. Mix until ingredients combined. Add additional tablespoons of broth if dough is too dry. Flour work surface. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into desired shape.

Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes (depending upon size). You want them firm but still a little chewy when you take them out of the oven. Cool and store in airtight container.

Banana Carob

Blend all ingredients thoroughly and spread on cool cake. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. The frosting contains carob, which is a safe chocolate-like flavor substitute for chocolate.
