- Topping:
- 2 1/2 cups warm milk
- 4 tsp yeast
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 2 tsp salt
- 7 cups flour maybe a lil extra too
- 1/3 cups melted butter
- basil
- oregano
- garlic
Preparation
Step 1
Bring your milk up to 110-120 degrees. Pour milk into mixing bowl and sprinkle with yeast… let set for 5-10 minutes.
Beat in the sugar, eggs, 1/2 cup butter, and salt
Gradually stir in the flour to make a soft dough
Place in greased bowl…set in a warm place until dough doubles in size, about 1 hour
Punch down the dough, cover the bowl, and allow to rise again. Repeat this step two more times
Grease a 13×9 pan i like to use the cookie sheet ones with high sides Break off 2 to 3 inch size pieces of dough, roll lightly into round shape, and place in prepared baking dish, edges touching. Repeat till dough is gone. Cover and let rise until doubled in size. pre heat oven to 400 degrees Bake rolls in preheated oven until tops turn golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes
While rolls are baking melt butter for topping and toss some garlic, oregano and basil in the butter
After baking brush with butter mixture(optional)
