Christmas Eggnog (cooked)

This one happens to be the best I have ever tasted.

Ingredients

Preparation

Step 1

1 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Place in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and cook until a golden brown. Remove from heat.

Add 1/3 cup water and stir until smooth.

In a double broiler, whip:
6 eggs
4 cups milk
Then, add the sugar mixture. Stir constantly until mixture reaches 160 degrees. Remove and pout into a chilled bowl.
Add the following ingredients, still, and chill.
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Dash of salt

After mixture has chilled, whip the following ingredients and add them to the chilled mixture in an egg nog bowl.
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon hazelnut flavoring
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
