Traditional Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup of Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup of Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Wash and core 4 big cooking apples, leaving about an inch at the bottom intact so they are not hollow throughout.

Mix together 1 tablespoon of butter, ¼ cup of light brown sugar, ¼ cup of raisins, ¼ cup of chopped walnuts and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Stuff the apples with the mixture.

Place them in a roasting tray with an inch of hot water covering the bottom and bake for 40 minutes.

Serve warm with anything from yogurt to thick vanilla ice cream.
