Spaghetti Sauce (Fresh Tomato Sauce)

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic -- crushed
  • 1 pound fresh tomatoes -- peeled, seeded, choped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil -- minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1



Heat oil in a skillet.
When hot, add garlic until blanched. Next, add tomatoes, sugar, and salt.
Stir until blended, crushing tomatoes.
Lower heat and cook gently for 30 minutes.
Add basil last few minutes.
Serve over aldente spaghetti with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
