Sweet Noodle Kugel

Ingredients

  • 1 (24 oz. ) carton cream-style cottage cheese
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (2 3/4 cups)
  • 1 3/4 cups raisins
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 1 (16 oz.) package wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • Sliced apples

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, 2 3/4 cups sliced apples, raisins and undrained pineapple.

In a small mixing bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
Grease a 13" x 9" baking dish, and place 1/3 of the cooked noodles. Top with 1/2 the cottage cheese mixture, and 1/3 of the cinnamon sugar mixture, and mix into the noodles.

Place another 1/3 of the cooked noodles on top, and repeat the previous steps. End the layering with the remaining 1/3 cooked noodles.

Brush top with melted margarine, and sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over all. Arrange additional apple slices on top.

Cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 1 hour. Serve immediately, spooning bottom juices over the each serving.

Serves 12-15.
